New RO plant at Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee declared open

A new Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant, installed as part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) project, was declared open at the CNAD pier premises today (20th August 2024). The opening was held under the patronage of Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda.

Following the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, the Sri Lanka Navy enables its manpower and industrial expertise for the installation of RO plants, through the Naval Research and Development Unit. Accordingly, this initiative marked the establishment of the 1,024th RO plant by the Sri Lanka Navy.

The new facility will now readily provide safe drinking water to the crew members of naval craft moored at the CNAD pier and naval personnel at the Naval Dockyard.
