Navy leads beach cleaning initiative in Hikkaduwa and Tangalle

Sri Lanka Navy conducted a beach cleaning programme covering the Hikkaduwa beach and Tangalle harbour and beach area today (17th August 2024).

Going by the directives of Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Chandima Silva, the beach cleaning initiative was set in motion by SLNS Nipuna and SLNS Ruhuna. The efforts of naval personnel helped restore the attractiveness of the beaches by removing plastic and other waste scattered along the coastline.
