Commander Joint Agency Task Force - Operation Sovereign Borders calls on Commander of the Navy

Commander Joint Agency Task Force (JATF) - Operation Sovereign Borders (OSB), Rear Admiral Brett Sonter, Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and representatives of JATF OSB called on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters in Colombo today (14th August 2024).

Upon their arrival the Joint Agency Task Force - Operation Sovereign Borders delegation was warmly welcomed by the Commander of the Navy. The ensuing discussions focused on several matters of bilateral importance.

Director General Operations of the Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral Nishantha Peiris, Defence Advisor of the Australian High Commission in Colombo, Colonel Amanda Johnston and a group of senior officers from the Navy Headquarters were also present on this occasion. The official interaction drew to a close with an exchange of mementoes, as a gesture of goodwill and cooperation.

On the sidelines of this meeting, Joint Agency Task Force - Operation Sovereign Borders delivered two (02) of the three (03) All - Tertian Vehicles (AVTs), to the Sri Lanka Coast Guard at the Passenger Pier, Colombo Port.

Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, H.E. Paul Stephens, Rear Admiral Brett Sonter, Director General Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Pujitha Vithana, Director General Operations Rear Admiral Nishantha Peiris, officials from the Australian High Commission in Colombo as well as senior officers from the Coast Guard were present on this occasion.
