Navy leads beach cleaning initiatives in Galle

Sri Lanka Navy conducted a beach cleaning programme covering the coastal areas from Naval Base Galle to Galle Fort and the strip of beach within the Hambantota city limits on 03rd August 2024.

Going by the directives of Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Chandima Silva, the beach cleaning initiatives were set in motion by SLNS Dakshina and SLNS Kawantissa. The efforts of naval personnel helped restore the attractiveness of the beaches by removing plastic and other waste scattered along the coastline.
