Commodore Dammika Wijewardana assumes duties as Acting Commander Northwestern Naval Area

Commodore Dammika Wijewardana assumed duties as Acting Commander Northwestern Naval Area at the Command Headquarters today (27th July 2024).

Commodore Wijewardana was received to the Northwestern Naval Command in accordance with time-honoured naval traditions. Thereupon, his predecessor, Rear Admiral Nalindra Jayasinghe handed over the duties and responsibilities of the appointment to the newly appointed Area Commander.

Concluding the proceedings of the event, senior officers of the Northwestern Naval Command congratulated the outgoing Commander appreciative of his tenure. Following naval traditions, he was given a formal farewell with precision before his departure from the Command.
