Rear Admiral Chandima Silva assumes duties as Commander Southern Naval Area

Rear Admiral Chandima Silva assumed duties as Commander Southern Naval Area at the Southern Naval Command Headquarters today (08th July 2024).

The newly appointed Commander was received to the Southern Naval Command in accordance with time-honoured naval tradition. Thereupon, his predecessor, Rear Admiral Chinthaka Kumarasinghe handed over the duties and responsibilities of the appointment to the newly appointed Area Commander.

Concluding the proceedings of the event, senior officers of the Southern Naval Command congratulated the outgoing Commander appreciative of his tenure. Next the Command bade customary farewell to the outgoing Commander, in precision with naval tradition.
