Commander of the Navy chief guest at prefect investiture ceremony of Mahamevnawa Buddhist College, Demalagama

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera graced the prefect investiture ceremony of Mahamevnawa Buddhist College, Demalagama on 27th June 2024. The event, held in the school's main hall, was marked by a vibrant and festive atmosphere.

Upon arriving at the school, the Commander of the Navy received a warm welcome from the principal, teaching staff, and students. Vice Admiral Perera was then ushered to the main hall by the school's cultural dance troupe. The event's highlight was the Commander of the Navy pinning prefect badges to 45 students. In his subsequent address, he stressed the importance of cultivating leadership qualities from school days and developing the character necessary to become responsible citizens.

Members of Venerable Maha Sangha, the principal, teaching staff, and students of Mahamevnawa Buddhist College, Demalagama and parents of the school children were also present on this occasion.
