Navy conducts blood donation campaign in Northern Naval Command

As part of another Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) initiative, a blood donation campaign was held at the Northern Naval Command Hospital on 19th June 2024.

The Sri Lanka Navy has been conducting its NSR initiatives at the directives of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera. In parallel with these initiatives, this blood donation campaign was held under the supervision of Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Rohitha Abeysinghe. The prime motive of this magnanimous drive was to replenish blood stocks at the blood transfusion centres of the Teaching Hospital Jaffna and Base Hospital Thelippalei, following requests made by respective hospitals.

A large group of naval personnel from the Northern Naval Command volunteered to donate blood for this noble cause. The proceedings of the event were carried out with the assistance of medical staff of the Northern Naval Command Hospital as well as staffs from the Teaching Hospital Jaffna and Base Hospital Thelippalei.
