New ETU at SLNS Dakshina declared open

The new Emergency Treatment Unit (ETU) and renovated Sick Bay of SLNS Dakshina were declared open by the Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Chinthaka Kumarasinghe on 03rd June 2024. The Navy Seva Vanitha Unit provided financial backing to the initiative, while Rajakeeya Panditha Ven. Rajwelle Subhuthi Thero, Director of the Hospital Service Board, donated hospital equipment.

This new project, completed with the technical expertise and manpower of the Navy, will address a critical gap in the Southern Naval Command's medical capabilities. The new facilities will ensure that naval personnel have access to the emergency treatment they need.

Officers from the Southern Naval Command, Command Medical Officer (South) and medical staff were also present on this occasion.
