Commodore Rohan Joseph assumes duties as Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy

Commodore Rohan Joseph assumed duties as Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee on 30th May 2024. The Naval and Maritime Academy, famously known as NMA, is the premier training establishment of the Sri Lanka Navy.

Before assuming office as the 40th Commandant of NMA, Commodore Rohan Joseph was at the High Commission of Sri Lanka in New Delhi, India discharging duties as its Defence Adviser. The incoming Commandant was received at the Naval and Maritime Academy in compliance with naval traditions. Thereupon, his predecessor Rear Admiral Buddhika Liyanagamage officially handed over the duties and responsibilities of the appointment to Commodore Rohan Joseph.

Meanwhile, a ceremonial function was also held in front of the Commandant's Office to bid farewell to the outgoing Commandant Rear Admiral Buddhika Liyanagamage.
