Navy hands over term of SLCOMM President to Army
The Sri Lanka Navy handed over the term of the President of Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine (SLCOMM) to the Sri Lanka Army on 26th April 2024. Accordingly, the ceremony to induct new SLCOMM President was held under the patronage of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage at Galadari, Colombo. The guest of honour of the occasion was the Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Prof. Aloka Pathirana.
The event saw Commodore Nayana Wijedoru, Director Naval Dental Services of the Sri Lanka Navy, who served as the President of SLCOMM for 2023-24, handing over the responsibilities of the appointment to Brigadier Primal Piers, Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon of the Sri Lanka Army.
The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Mala Lamahewa, Director General Health Services, Rear Admiral Janaka Marambe, Surgeon Commodore MBPC Wijedasa and a group of officers from the Navy medical and dental services were also present on this occasion.
