Rear Admiral Damian Fernando assumes command of North Central Naval Command

Rear Admiral Damian Fernando, who was newly appointed as Commander North Central Naval Area, assumed duties at the Command Headquarters today (18th April 2024).

The incoming Commander was received to the North Central Naval Command in compliance with naval traditions. Thereafter, Rear Admiral Naleen Nawarathna who previously held the office, relinquished his duties upon formally handing over them to his successor.

Meanwhile, the senior officers of the North Central Naval Command congratulated the outgoing Commander for his service and bade him customary farewell on his departure.
