Rear Admiral Thushara Karunathunga takes over command of Southeastern Naval Command

Rear Admiral Thushara Karunathunga who was newly appointed as Commander Southeastern Naval Area, assumed duties at the Command Headquarters on 08 April 2024.

The incoming Commander was received to the Southeastern Naval Command in compliance with naval traditions. Thereafter, Rear Admiral Mahesh De Silva who previously held the office, relinquished his duties upon formally handing over them to his successor.

Meanwhile, the senior officers of the Southeastern Naval Command congratulated the outgoing Commander for his service and bade him customary farewell on his departure.
