Sri Lanka Navy Inspectorate achieves ISO 9001:2015 certification for excellence in inspections
The awarding of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification to the Sri Lanka Navy Inspectorate was held under the auspices of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera and Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI), Dr. Mrs. Siddhika G. Senarathna at the Lighthouse Galley Colombo on 27th March 2024.
The Directorate of Naval Inspections, operated with the mission to conduct regular internal assessments in conformity of procedural adherences as guided by accepted documentation of Sri Lanka Navy, directly functions under the supervision of the Commander of the Navy. Moreover, it is committed to inspect and audit all bases and ships, craft and establishments belonging to Sri Lanka Navy.
In achieving ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification, Naval Inspectorate empowered by enhancing highest level of efficiency, effectiveness and productivity through international best practices. This will pave the way to continuous improvement of the quality of all activities related to Naval Inspectorate.
The Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Pradeep Rathnayake, the Board of Management, officials from the Sri Lanka Standards Institution and a group of officers and sailors from the Navy Headquarters and Western Naval Command were present on this occasion.
