Foundation stone laid for four-storied holiday bungalow in Katharagama
Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera today (22nd February 2024) laid a foundation stone for a four-storied holiday bungalow in Katharagama. This proposed project, encompassing modern amenities, will improve the welfare facilities available for naval personnel visiting Katharagama.
The financial provisions required for the project will be provided by the Naval Buddhist Association and the construction will be carried out utilizing the manpower and industrial expertise of the Navy. Once completed, it will be able to accommodate 90 individuals.
The Director General Engineering and the President of Naval Buddhist Association, Rear Admiral Ravi Ranasinghe, Director General Civil Engineering, Rear Admiral Hiran Balasooriya, Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Chinthaka Kumarasinghe as well as officers and sailors from the Navy Headquarters and Southern Naval Command were present on this occasion.
