Rear Admiral Nilantha Hewavitharane assumes command of Commandant Volunteer Naval Force

Rear Admiral Nilantha Hewavitharane, who was appointed as Commandant Volunteer Naval Force, assumed duties at the Volunteer Naval Force (VNF) Headquarters today (20th February 2024).

Upon his arrival, the newly appointed VNF Commandant was warmly received to the VNF Headquarters in compliance with naval traditions. Thereafter, Rear Admiral Saman Perera who previously held the office, relinquished his duties, formally handing over them to his successor.

Meanwhile, the senior officers of the VNF Headquarters congratulated the outgoing Commandant for his service and bade him customary farewell on his departure.
