Rear Admiral Nalin Navarathne assumes command of North Central Naval Command

Rear Admiral Nalin Navarathne assumed office as Commander North Central Naval Area at the Command Headquarters today (19th January 2024).

Upon his arrival at the North Central Naval Command, the incoming Area Commander was received in compliance with naval traditions. Subsequently, his predecessor Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda formally handed over duties and responsibilities of the command to Rear Admiral Nalin Navarathne.

Meanwhile, the senior officers of the North Central Naval Command expressed their best wishes to the outgoing Area Commander before the Command bade farewell to him in precision with naval traditions. Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda is expected to assume duties as Commander Northern Naval Area in due course.
