Rear Admiral Nalindra Jayasinghe assumes command of Northwestern Naval Command

Rear Admiral Nalindra Jayasinghe assumed office as Commander Northwestern Naval Area at the Command Headquarters today (12th January 2024).

Upon his arrival at the Northwestern Naval Command, the incoming Area Commander was received in compliance with naval traditions. Subsequently, his predecessor Rear Admiral Nishantha Peiris formally handed over duties and responsibilities of the command to Rear Admiral Nalindra Jayasinghe

Meanwhile, the senior officers of the Northwestern Naval Command expressed their best wishes to the outgoing Area Commander before the Command bade farewell to him in precision with naval traditions. Rear Admiral Nishantha Peiris is expected to assume duties as Director General Operations in due course.
