Navy assists smooth function of health services in several hospitals
In the wake of the shortage of health staffs at hospitals, the Navy on 11th and 12th January 2024 stepped up to provide crucial health services, to avoid inconvenience to the public and ensure the continuity of essential services in hospitals.
At the directives of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, 02 medical teams were sent to the District General Hospital Trincomalee and another (01) medical team to the National Hospital For Respiratory Diseases, Welisara on 11th and 12th January. Accordingly, the Navy medical teams worked in cooperation with the hospital staffs and its intervention has come as a welcome relief for those in need of urgent care.
At all times, the Navy is ready and available to support the public during any emergency situation.
