Naval Association organizes annual get-together – 2023 on colourful note
Marking the 44th Anniversary of Sri Lanka Naval Association, slated for 08th December, its annual get-together was held on a colourful note at the Wave n' Lake Navy Hall in Welisara on 25th November 2023. The event was held under the patronage of its President Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne (Retd) who is also a former Commander of the Navy and Chief of Defence Staff.
The Sri Lanka Naval Association, founded in 1979, aims to enhance the well-being of retired naval personnel. In recent years, it has evolved into a highly organized and dynamic entity, actively executing diverse welfare initiatives for both retired and serving naval personnel. Notably, the association has issued membership to nearly ten thousand retired naval personnel as of today.
Former President of Naval Association as well as former Commander of the Navy and Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Daya Sandagiri (Retd), former Commander of the Navy, Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne (Retd), Vice President Sri Lanka Naval Association, Rear Admiral TMJ Mendis (Retd), about 500 members of the association and around 100 serving naval personnel, at the invitation of the President Naval Association, attended this event.
