Certificate awarding of “Operational Coordination of Emergency Response at Sea” advanced training module held in Trincomalee

The certificate awarding of “Operational Coordination of Emergency Response at Sea” advanced training module was held at the Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee on 24th November 2023. The training module, tailored for officers and sailors of the Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Coast Guard, was conducted by the French MRCC of Reunion Island.

The programme was coordinated by the Embassy of France in Colombo. Held from 20th to 24th November 2023, it was facilitated by the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA), under the supervision of Commandant NMA Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamage. During the training module, participants were made aware of “Operational Coordination of Emergency Response at Sea”. In addition, vital knowledge and experience were also shared with regard to maritime search and rescue operations.

Officials from the Embassy of France in Colombo and French MRCC of Reunion Island, Training Captain NMA, Captain Chandana Priyantha and a group of naval personnel were also present on this occasion.
