Commodore Superintendent Engineering Department in North Central Naval Command recognized with certification of ISO 45001:2018

The awarding of ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Management System certificate to the Commodore Superintendent Engineering Department in North Central Naval Command was held under the patronage of Commander North Central Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, and with the attendance of the Deputy Director General / Director (System Certification), Mrs SU Narangoda and Deputy Director General / Director (Quality Assurance) of Mrs NBD Neelakanthi of Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) at the Malima Reception Hall, SLNS Pandukabhaya – Poonewa on 15th September 2023.

The certification process involved a thorough evaluation of existing health and safety management systems, policies, and procedures of the engineering workshops of the Commodore Superintendent Engineering Department in North Central Naval Command, followed by a series of audits to ensure that they were in compliance with the ISO 45001:2018 standard. Accordingly, the certification was awarded after the institution successfully demonstrated its commitment to implementing and maintaining best practices in occupational health and safety management.

Director Engineering Service, Commodore Chandana Bopagoda from the Navy Headquarters, senior officers and naval personnel from the North Central Naval Command were also present on this occasion.
