Sri Lanka Navy restores equipment at Lady Ridgeway Hospital

In a commendable display of social responsibility, the Sri Lanka Navy undertook the initiative to repair hospital beds and refurbish essential equipment at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children. Deputy Director Hull Engineering, Captain Kapila De Silva officially handed over the repaired beds and equipment to the Lady Ridgeway Hospital, Colombo today (17th August 2023).

This endeavour was initiated in response to the directives of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera who stressed the importance of contributing to the well-being of the community. Navy engineering personnel generously devoted their expertise and manpower to repair a total of 54 beds, 5 laundry racks, and 1 oxygen holder. In a show of unity, the hospital provided the necessary funds to facilitate the repairs, which began on 31st July.

The Lady Ridgeway Hospital staff expressed their gratitude to the Sri Lanka Navy for their invaluable contribution. The repaired beds and equipment are set to significantly improve the overall patient experience and the quality of medical services offered at the hospital.
