IKAZUCHI (DD-107) of Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force departs after formal visit

IKAZUCHI (DD-107) of Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, which arrived in Colombo on 22nd June 2023, departed the island on 23rd June 2023. The Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing ship in compliance with naval traditions at the port of Colombo.

During this visit, the Commanding Officer of IKAZUCHI (DD-107), Commander TANAKA Hiroaki met with Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Suresh De Silva. During their stay, the crew members of the ship also visited some of the iconic places in the commercial city of Colombo.

The arrival of foreign naval vessels on official visits will significantly contribute to fostering friendship and collaboration between the naval forces of both nations.
