Navy renders assistance for successful conduct of annual feast of St. Anthony's Shrine, Kochchikade

The annual feast of St. Anthony's Shrine, Kochchikade was held on a grand note on 13th June 2023, with the attendance of a large number of devotees. The main mass was conducted by the Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith.

As it has been the time-honoured practice, the Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance for the conduct of the annual feast of St. Anthony's Shrine, Kochchikade. The evening mass, which marked the commencement of the annual feast, was also attended by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera. Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Navy, with pious sentiments, rendered assistance to take the statue of St. Anthony in procession on the streets.

At the directives of the Commander of the Navy and guidance of the Chairman of Christian Council of the Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral Damian Fernando the Christian Council coordinated the Navy’s arrangements for the successful conduct of the event, with the able contribution of its officers and sailors.

Meanwhile, the Priest of St. Anthony's Shrine and devotees expressed their gratitude to the Commander of the Navy and members of the Sri Lanka Navy for their assistance during the proceedings of the annual feast.
