Rear Admiral Janaka Nissanka assumes command of North Central Naval Command

Rear Admiral Janaka Nissanka assumed duties as Commander North Central Naval Area at the Command Headquarters today (02nd March 2023).

Before taking over duties of the new appointment, Rear Admiral Janaka Nissanka was at the Navy Headquarters as Director General Administration. Upon his arrival at the North Central Naval Command, the incoming Commander was received in compliance with naval traditions. Subsequently, his predecessor Rear Admiral Prasad Kariyapperuma handed over duties and responsibilities of the command to Rear Admiral Janaka Nissanka.

Meanwhile, the senior officers of the Command congratulated the outgoing Area Commander appreciative of his service during his tenure and the North Central Naval Command bade farewell to him in precision with naval traditions.
