New Navy Commander addresses Board of Management
After assuming duties as the 25th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera addressed his inaugural Board of Management at the Navy Headquarters today (18th December 2022).
Addressing the members of the Board of Management, the newly appointed Commander drew attention to the current economic situation of the country and urged naval officers to make use of public money judiciously. Adding further, he highlighted the importance of the enhancement of surveillance operations to thwart all forms of illegal activities and the influx of drugs into the island via sea routes. In this regard, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera pointed out the optimal use of naval assets and other resources in the best interests of the nation and its people.
In addition, he went onto say that the young blooded naval personnel need to be led for the realization of aspirations of the country and to deliver a productive service as , Sri Lanka envisions an “Inclusive Transformation towards a Sustainably Developed Nation for All”, aligned with Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
