26 Navy officers graduated with ‘psc’ from Defence Services Command and Staff College
The graduation ceremony of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), Sapugaskanda Course No 16 was held at Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre on 08th December 2022. The event, graced by the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Chief Guest, was also attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne.
The Course No 16 of DSCSC commenced on 10th January 2022. A total of 149 officers comprising of 76 officers from the Sri Lanka Army, 26 officers from the Sri Lanka Navy, 25 officers from the Sri Lanka Air Force and 13 Army, 05 Navy and 04 Air Force officers representing Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Senegal and Zambia completed this year’s course.
Upon successful completion of the course of study, 26 naval officers of Course No 16 were conferred the psc (Passed Staff College) qualification. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Commander (E) KKDMD Karunarathna from the Sri Lanka Navy won the Golden Owl Award.
Chief of Staff to the President and Senior Advisor to the President on National Security, Mr. Sagala Rathnayaka, Defence Secretary, General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd), Chief of Defence Staff, General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, Inspector General of Police, CD Wickramarathne, Vice Chancellor of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Major General Milinda Peiris, Commandant Defence Services Command and Staff College, Major General BKGML Rodrigo, academic and directing staff of DSCSC and officers of course No. 16 were also present on this occasion.
