Drum and Dance Fiesta of Navy Cultural Band held on colourful note

The Drum and Dance Fiesta presented by the Sri Lanka Navy Cultural Band was held at the Royal-MAS Arena, Colombo 07 on 29th November 2022, on a colourful note. The event was graced by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne along with the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Chandima Ulugetenne.

The naval personnel of the Navy Cultural Band, who staged this exciting event were apprenticed by two of the veteran artists in the country, Mr Chandana Wickramasinghe and Mr Ravibandhu Vidyapathy for 06 months, before the mega event. Thus, the Drums and Dance Fiesta turned out to be the apex of their skills, honed during their training. The showpiece event comprised of eleven (11) electrifying drum and dance performances presented by the members of the Navy Cultural Band, who held the audience spellbound right through.

Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Priyantha Perera, Director Generals, Area Commanders, executive committee members of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, retired senior naval officers, flag rank officers, Senior Coordinator of the Navy Band, Captain Pradeep Dowson, Acting Director of Music, Captain Athula Dayakeerthi and a group of officers and sailors from the Navy Headquarters and Western Naval Command were present on this occasion.
