Rear Admiral Harindra Ekanayake takes over command of Southern Naval Area

Rear Admiral Harindra Ekanayake assumed duties as Commander Southern Naval Area at the Command Headquarters today (25th July 2022).

The incoming Commander was warmly received to the Southern Naval Command according him a Guard of Honour in compliance with naval tradition. Thereupon, Rear Admiral Sajith Gamage who previously held the office, relinquished his duties upon formally handing over the same to Rear Admiral Harindra Ekanayake.

Prior to take over duties in the new appointment, Rear Admiral Harindra Ekanayake was at the Navy Headquarters, discharging duties as Provost Marshal.
