Logistics Conference-2022 and Certificate Awarding of LLMC Course No 6 conclude in Trincomalee
The Logistics Conference-2022 and Certificate Awarding of Long Logistics Management (LLMC) Course No.6 were held at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium in Trincomalee on 23rd April 2022. The Director General Logistics of the Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral Nishantha De Silva graced both the events as the Chief Guest.
The theme of this year’s Logistics Conference was ‘Opportunity of Revolutionary Logistics in Naval Context to Counter Challenges in Third Decade of Twenty First Century’. The Conference was held as two sessions during which student officers of LLMC Course No 6 presented research papers, explaining what they have learned after exploring their topics in depth.
The first session of the conference was conducted under the theme of ‘Contemporary Naval Logistics in Pandemic; Challenges, Opportunities and Way Forward’ where the second session was conducted under the theme of ‘Innovations, Constraints and Opportunities of Naval Logisticians Under Digitalization’.
On the sidelines of the conference, the Chief Guest also launched an e journal making it a special feature of this paperless conference. The Director Naval (Pay & Pension) of the Sri Lanka Navy Commodore RACN Rathnayake delivered the keynote address.
Marking the culmination of LLMC Course No 6, nineteen (19) student officers were awarded certificates. Accordingly, Lieutenant Commander Yohan Wanigasekara excelled in the course of study securing awards for first in order of merit and overall performances, Highest Aggregator of Naval Logistics Subjects and Highest Aggregator of Academic Subjects. Meanwhile Lieutenant Commander Gihan Premathilaka was recognized as the Most Inspired Officer.
The Logistics Conference was arranged by the Long Logistics Management Course No.6 with the professional guidance and supervision of the Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy Commodore Damian Fernando. The conference audience was attended by key logisticians and other officers from Navy Headquarters and other Naval areas as well as Officer under Trainees of the Naval & Maritime Academy.
