First floor of Sri Lanka Naval Association Secretariat declared open
The first floor of the Sri Lanka Naval Association (SLNA) Secretariat was declared open by Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne who serves as the ex-officio Patron of the Sri Lanka Naval Association, at the Welisara Naval Complex today (07th April 2022).
The SLNA is the most formidable association affiliated to the Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen Association with a membership of almost 8000. The new facility would provide accommodation for visiting Naval personnel, especially members of the Sri Lanka Naval Association seeking medical treatment from the Navy General Hospital, Colombo. The project for this state of the art facility was funded by SLNA and the construction work was entirely handled by the Civil Engineering staff of the Sri Lanka Navy.
President of SLNA, Admiral Daya Sandagiri (Retd), presented a memento to Commander of the Navy, to mark the significance of this occasion.
The Secretary General of the SLNA, Professor Rear Admiral (Retd) Shemal Fernando, members of SLNA, Deputy Chief of Staff and Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Upul De Silva, Principal Advisor on Health and Nutrition and Prevention of Spreading Communicable Diseases including COVID-19, Surgeon Rear Admiral GSR Jayawardane, Director Generals, flag-rank officers and officers from Navy Headquarters and Welisara Naval Complex were present.
