Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularathna takes over command of Eastern Naval Area

Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularathna assumed office as Commander Eastern Naval Area at the Command Headquarters in Trincomalee today (08th March 2022).

The incoming Commander was warmly received to the Eastern Naval Command according a Guard of Honour in compliance with naval traditions. Meanwhile, Rear Admiral Sanjeewa Dias who previously held the office, relinquished his duties upon handing over them to the newly appointed Commander of Eastern Naval Area. Prior to take over duties of the new appointment, Rear Admiral Kularathna was at Northwestern Naval Command, discharging duties as Commander Northwestern Naval Area.

Officers and sailors of the Eastern Naval Command bade farewell to the outgoing Area Commander who was also accorded a Guard of Honour in precision with naval tradition, before his departure from the premises.
