Navy official web adjudged the Most Popular Government Website at ‘Best Web 2021’

The awards ceremony of ‘Best Web 2021’ was held at the LK Domain Registry - an independent body registering domains for local websites, on 26th January 2022. Sri Lanka Navy’s official website ‘www.navy.lk’ was adjudged the Most Popular Website as well as the Bronze Winner in the Government Category at ‘Best Web 2021’. The awards received in this regard at the awards ceremony were handed over to Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters on 08th February 2022.

The ‘Best Web 2021’ is organized by the LK Domain Registry to select the best websites in Sri Lanka, under various categories. In this competition a wide-ranging criteria of a website such as; completeness of content, ease of navigation, user-friendliness, security, non-violation of copyright etc. were taken into consideration to announce the winners.

Apart from the above acclamations, the Navy also won Merit Awards for the Best Mobile Optimized Website and Best Sinhala Website at ‘Best Web 2021’.

Moreover, the Navy official website was recognized as the Best Website in the Government Category in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019 as well as the Most Popular Website in the same category in 2018 and 2019 as well.

Director Naval Information Technology, Captain CV Ranaweera and a group of naval personnel were also present on the occasion where the awards were handed over to Commander of the Navy.
