Blood donation camp held in Southern Naval Command

Coinciding with events held as part of the 71st anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy, the Southern Naval Command organized a blood donation campaign at SLNS Nipuna on 30th December 2021.

The blood donation campaign was organized following the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne and under the guidance of Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Prasanna Hewage. The objective of this event was to replenish blood stocks at Blood Transfusion Centre in the Teaching Hospital – Karapitiya. Supporting this magnanimous cause a number of naval personnel donated blood voluntarily.

The donation campaign was held adhering to COVID-19 protocols and it was well supported by a group of Navy medical staff and individuals from Blood Transfusion Centre in the Teaching Hospital – Karapitiya.
