25 Navy officers graduated with ‘psc’ from Defence Services Command and Staff College
The graduation ceremony of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), Sapugaskanda Course No 15 was held at Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre on 10th December 2021. The event graced by Secretary Defence, General (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne as the Chief Guest was also attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne.
The Course No 15 of DSCSC commenced on 26th January and concluded on 10th December 2021. A total of 145 officers comprising of 76 officers from the Sri Lanka Army, 25 officers from the Sri Lanka Navy, 26 officers from the Sri Lanka Air Force and 11 Army, 02 Navy and 05 Air Force officers representing Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, United States and Senegal completed this year’s course.
Upon successful completion of the course of study, the 25 naval officers of Course No 15 were conferred the psc (Passed Staff College) qualification. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Commander SHDS Fernando from Sri Lanka Navy received both the Golden Owl Award and Commandant’s Honours where Lieutenant Commander KKC Udayanga also won Commandant’s Honours.
Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, KDU Vice Chancellor Major General Milinda Peiris Commandant Defence Services Command and Staff College, Major General IHMNN Herath, academic and directing staff of DSCSC and officers of course No. 15 were also present on this occasion. The proceedings of the event had been organized adhering to COVID-19 protocols to prevent possibilities of the transmission of the pandemic.
