Northern Naval Command organizes blood donation campaign to coincide with Navy’s 71st anniversary
The Northern Naval Command organized a blood donation campaign at SLNS Uththara on 01st December, to coincide with the forthcoming anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy.
Following the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne and guidance of Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Priyantha Perera, this timely initiative was launched to replenish blood stocks available at hospitals in the Northern Province. About 287 naval personnel attached to ships and establishments of the Northern Naval Command voluntarily donated blood, making this magnanimous effort a success.
The event was held adhering to COVID-19 protocols and it was well backed by the medical staffs of the Navy and health staffs of Northern Province hospitals.
