Boossa COVID-19 Intermediate Care Centre receives portable steamers
The Bishop of Diocese of Galle, Rt. Rev. Raymond Wickramasinghe provided 50 portable steamers to the Navy for the benefit of individuals receiving treatment at the navy –managed COVID-19 Intermediate Care Centre in Boossa. The delivery was received by Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Prasanna Hewage at the Kaluwella Catholic Church on 17th September 2021.
Sri Lanka Navy established this Intermediate Care Centre at SLNS Nipuna, Boossa in support of the Government's programme to expand facilities required for the treatment of individuals tested positive for COVID-19. Since its inception, a number of organizations and institutes have contributed to this timely initiative with a wide range of monetary and material aid. In a similar vein this provision has been made by a close acquaintance of Rt. Rev. Raymond Wickramasinghe, lives in New Jersey in the United States, to be handed over to the Boossa COVID-19 Intermediate Care Centre. Accordingly, the symbolic handover of the items came about at the Kaluwella Catholic Church on 17th September.
