Navy General Hospital-Welisara receives oxygen concentrators
An occasion to signify the symbolical handover of 02 oxygen concentrators, intended for the treatment of COVID-19 patients at Navy General Hospital-Welisara, to Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne was held at the Navy Headquarters today (11th September 2021).
As a result of the generosity of Mr. Milinda (Mel) Wickramasinghe and his family from Pennsylvania, USA the 02 oxygen concentrators were provided to the Navy for the use of COVID-19 treatment at Navy General Hospital-Welisara. Accordingly, the two units were symbolically handed over to Commander of the Navy, in coordination with Rear Admiral (Retd.) Meril Wickramasinghe, Brigadier (Retd.) Prasad Akuranthilaka, Mr Buddapriya Ramanayeke, Mr. Susantha Heenatigala, Mr. Manjula Seelanathakuruppu and Mr. Prasanna Dhatunarachchi- a group of old boys of DS Senanayake College, Colombo.
Rear Admiral (Retd.) Meril Wickramasinghe, Mr. Susantha Heenatigala, Mr. Manjula Seelanathakurupu, Mr. Prasanna Dhatunarachchi and Acting Director General Health Services, Commodore PJB Marambage were also present on the occasion.
