Navy bids adieu to Rear Admiral Marcus Perera
Rear Admiral Marcus Perera retired from naval service today (07th September 2021), upon completion of his distinguished career spanning over 35 years in the Navy.
The outgoing senior officer who is celebrating his 55th birthday today received warm wishes from Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne and the Board of Management before he was accorded a Guard of Honour in accordance with naval traditions. Thereupon, fellow naval officers made their formal farewells to the retiring senior officer who then took leave from the Navy Headquarters in a motorcade.
Rear Admiral Marcus Perera joined the Sri Lanka Navy in 1986 and rendered a prominent service to the organization. He has held key appointments such as; Captain Logistics Department North, Deputy Director Naval (Pay), Deputy Director Naval (Pay & Pension), Captain Logistics Department West and Northwest, Director Integrated Logistics Management System, Director Naval Foreign Procurement, Director Naval Logistics, Director Logistics of Civil Security Department and Director General Logistics during his illustrious naval career.
