Certificate awarding of Joint Combined Exchange Training Balance Style 02/2021 held in Trincomalee

The closing ceremony of the Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) Balance Style 02/2021 was held at the Special Boat Squadron (SBS) Headquarters, Trincomalee on 02nd September 2021. The termination of the course also witnessed the participants receiving certificates on successful completion of JCET Balance Style 02/2021.

The course commenced on 04th August 2021 at the Special Boat Squadron (SBS) Headquarters and it was participated by 36 naval personnel representing SBS (24) and 4th Fast Attack Flotilla (12). Further, the JCET comprised nine (09) trainers from Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha 1313 of the US Army.

The four-week long exercise focused on Human Rights, Law of Armed Conflict, Small Unit Tactics, Military Operations in Urban Environment, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, Combat Marksmanship, Mission Planning, Maritime Operations etc. Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) Balance Style course also served to develop professional skills and exchange of knowledge between the US Army and SLN personnel, meeting the course objectives.

The certificate awarding ceremony was organized adhering to COVID-19 protocols in view of preventing the transmission of the pandemic and Deputy Area Commander Eastern Naval Area, Commodore Janaka Nissanka grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. Further, Commanding Officer 4th Fast Attack Flotilla (4 FAF), Commanding Officer Special Boat Squadron (SBS), members from the Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha 1313 of the US Army and a limited group of naval personnel were present on this occasion.
