Awareness programme on International Ship and Port Facility Security concludes

An awareness programme on International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS), conducted by the Ministry of Ports and Shipping, concluded on 25th August 2021 at Naval Headquarters. Meanwhile, the certificate awarding of the programme was held under the patronage of Director General Merchant Shipping, Mr. AW Senevirathna and with the attendance of Director Naval Operations, Commodore Nishantha Peiris.

Government Ship Surveyor, Captain Upul Peiris was the resource person for the programme which covered provisions of ISPS and related matters, over 03 consecutive days. The programme was organized in compliance with COVID-19 protocols for the arrest of the pandemic transmission. Four (04) Officers and six (06) Sailors covering major ports of the country took part in this awareness programme and received the certificates for successful completion of the programme.
