Navy sets up Reverse Osmosis plant at Talaimannar Divisional Hospital
A Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant set up at the Divisional Hospital Talaimannar as part of Navy Social Responsibility initiative was declared open under the patronage of Commander North Central Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sanjeewa Dias on 19th June 2021.
The new facility was made available with the initiatives of the Ministry of Health and technology cum manpower enabled by the Sri Lanka Navy. The RO plant would henceforth fulfill the safe drinking water need of the people visiting the hospital as well as residents in and around.
The opening of the facility was held adhering to COVID-19 protocols in place due to pandemic concerns. Regional Director of Health Services Mannar Dr. D. Vinodan, Dr. Bhagya Weerawardena and a limited number of officers and sailors of the North Central Naval Command were also present on this occasion.
