Rear Admiral Upul De Silva assumes duties as Commandant Volunteer Naval Force
Rear Admiral Upul De Silva assumed duties as Commandant Volunteer Naval Force at the Volunteer Naval Force Headquarters today (14th June 2021). Subsequent to the assumption of duties, he also called on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters.
The incoming Commandant Volunteer Naval Force was warmly received to the Volunteer Naval Force Headquarters according him a Guard of Honour. Thereupon, his predecessor, Rear Admiral Sanath Uthpala officially handed over duties and responsibilities to Rear Admiral Upul De Silva who then visited the Navy Headquarters to call on Commander of the Navy.
In addition to the appointment of Commandant Volunteer Naval Force, Rear Admiral Upul De Silva also holds the office as Commander Western Naval Area.
