Sri Lanka Navy granted an interest free loan worth Rs. 500,000 each to 43 senior sailors and Rs. 200,000 each to 29 junior sailors in the Leading Rate today (07th April 2021). The occasion to hand over cheques, amounting to Rs. 27.3 million in total, to the beneficiaries was presided over by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters.

Seventy two (72) senior and junior ratings receive interest free loans

Sri Lanka Navy granted an interest free loan worth Rs. 500,000 each to 43 senior sailors and Rs. 200,000 each to 29 junior sailors in the Leading Rate today (07th April 2021). The occasion to hand over cheques, amounting to Rs. 27.3 million in total, to the beneficiaries was presided over by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters.

This welfare initiative was launched by Naval Benefit Foundation, to recognize the contributions of long serving senior and junior sailors in the Navy. Accordingly, 3567 senior ratings and 139 junior ratings have been granted this loan facility till date. Meanwhile, the Navy is determined to grant this financial support to yet another 2010 senior and junior sailors in due course.
