Navy distributes school supplies among children in island sector, Jaffna

The Northern Naval Command organized a programme to distribute school supplies among school children in the island sector, Jaffna under the patronage of Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Senarath Wijesooriya at Mandaitivu on 14th March 2021.

The programme had been organized in collaboration with St Francis Church, Mandaitivu as another social responsibility initiative launched along with the 70th anniversary of Sri Lanka Navy. During the event school supplies and essential food items were distributed among a cross section of primary school children who were from rural schools on Mandaitivu, Pungudutivu and Kayts Islands.

Further, Rev. Father David Emmanuel Pillei of St Francis Church, Mandaitivu, teachers and parents of children of the island sector expressed their admiration for this timely initiative rolled out by Sri Lanka Navy.

Deputy Area Commander, Northern Naval Area, officers and sailors from the Command and residents were also present on this occasion.
