Newly appointed Commander of the Air Force calls on Commander of the Navy

Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana who was appointed as the 18th Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force called on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters today (09th November 2020).

The visiting Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force was warmly received to the Navy Headquarters by Deputy Chief of Staff and Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sumith Weerasinghe and was accorded a Guard of Honour in compliance with naval traditions. The occasion was also attended by Chief of Staff of the Navy and the Board of Management.

This also turned out to be the maiden visit of Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana to the Navy Headquarters in Colombo upon reaching the highest seat of the Sri Lanka Air Force. After exchange of pleasantries the two top brass held a cordial discussion where Vice Admiral Ulugetenne expressed best wishes and all the success to Air Marshal Pathirana for the execution of his entrusted duties.

The cordial meeting between the two Commanders came to a close after an exchange of mementoes to signify the importance of this special occasion.
