The annual event organized by the ‘Senehasa’ Education Resource Research and Information Center to unveil the talents of its children with special needs, on the sidelines of the World Children's Day, was held today (01st October 2020) under the patronage of the First Lady, Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa. This special occasion was also attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne and the President of Navy Seva Vanith unit, Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne.

Commander of the Navy attends ceremony organized by ‘Senehasa’ on World Children’s Day

The annual event organized by the ‘Senehasa’ Education Resource Research and Information Center to unveil the talents of its children with special needs, on the sidelines of the World Children's Day, was held today (01st October 2020) under the patronage of the First Lady, Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa. This special occasion was also attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne and the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne.

‘Senehasa’ Education Resource Research and Information Center was established for the prime purpose of caring and supporting children with special needs from the families of security forces. Further, it provides clinical, therapeutic and education facilities whilst operating as a resource and information center.

To celebrate the World Children’s Day that falls today (01st October) the children with special needs under the care of ‘Senehasa’ Education Resource Research and Information Center, exhibited their talents in front of the First Lady, Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa and an august gathering, in a variety show held at the auditorium of the center in Narahenpita. Meanwhile, the talents of the children were well appreciated by the audience present on the occasion. A total of 138 children with special needs participated in the concert and at the end of the ceremony a prize giving ceremony was also held in recognition of the performances of those children.

Tri-service Commanders, senior officers from armed services and parents of the children were also present on this special occasion.
