Command of Southeastern Naval Area changes hands

Commodore Jayantha Gamage assumed duties as the Acting Commander Southeastern Naval Area at the Command Headquarters on 15th September 2020.

The new Acting Area Commander was received to the Southeastern Naval Command in accordance with naval traditions before he assumed duties in the new appointment giving prominence to religious observance.

Meanwhile, Rear Admiral Senarath Wijesooriya, the former Commander Southeastern Naval Area, was accorded a Guard of Honour prior to his departure from the Command. He is due to assume command as Commander Northern Naval Area in due course.

Deputy Area Commander, Heads of Departments and a group of officers were present on this occasion.
