Upon completion of his distinguished career spanning over three decades, Rear Admiral Muditha Gamage retired from the naval service today (07th August 2020).

The retiring naval officer who is celebrating his 55th birthday today received warm wishes from Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne and Director Generals, before he was accorded a Guard of Honour in accordance with naval traditions at the Navy Headquarters.

Subsequently, the fellow naval officers made their formal farewells to the outgoing senior officer appreciative of his service rendered to the organization and he was sent off in a motorcade amidst the cheers of senior and junior sailors gathered on either side of the road.

Rear Admiral Muditha Gamage joined the Sri Lanka Navy as an Officer Cadet in 1985 and performed duties in various capacities during his naval career. Among key appointments held by the senior officers, Director Naval Administration, Director Naval (Project and Plan), Deputy Area Commander (North Central), Deputy Director General Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Commander Northern Naval Area, Director General Administration and Director General Services stood prominent.
